38 Weeks . Valentines Day

Here's the up date. Last Saturday I started the day off scrubbing my house and running around town when I started to feel contractions. They weren't so bad that I couldn't stop what I was doing, but they were pretty good and I was having about 3 an hour. This scared me a little bit so I started packing Shelby's hospital bag and around 6:00 p.m that night they stopped and I haven't felt too much since. So all last week Scott and I got our hospital bags packed and put the car seat in the car. Now we're ready! On Wed. I went in for my 38 week check-up thinking I've progressed a lot more because of what I've been feeling, but I'm still at a 2 and 80% effacded. My little one still has a strong heartbeat, and I'm still healthy as ever. I knew I would be like this all month, but come on! I wish I was further! I'm not the one running the show now...it's all up to my little one when she wants to come. It's so hard when my family and girlfriends are having their babies and all I want is my little one. I know I'm sounding stubborn, but I've waited 9 months for her and it seems like it's never going to happen. Everyone keeps telling me to put my feet up, rest, and everything will be fine, which I know it will be, but hey a few extra walks and squats wont hurt. This next week at my doctors appointment I'll be scheduling my induction date so yes there is hope for us.
Yesterday was my last day at work working full time (weird). I've worked at the Dermatology Center for a little over 3 years now and it's going to be so different not having to wake up at 6:30 every morning. I know I'll miss everyone I work with, but I'm really excited to be staying home now and having fun being a mommy:)
Since the only thing we can think about right now it our baby we took an easier approach to Valentines Day this year. In the past we've gone all out surprised each other we gifts, gone to dinner, and even gone out of town for the holiday. This year no surprises, but just as good. Both our cell phones that we've had the past 3 years were breaking down so we decided to upgrade and get new cell phones. (I hate how our lives cant live without these, but so worth it!) We spoiled ourselves and got one another the My Touch phones w/T Mobile. We've never had phones that do all the email and fancy things, but man can this phone make a difference. The other night we wanted to see what movies were playing at the theater and instead of getting in our car and driving by, or pulling out the news paper all we had to do was click one little button and bam! All the movies were there on our phone with ratings/reviews, trailers, and more. I know it's lame, but we really love our phones. The rest of our holiday was relaxing at home and eating the best tri tip steak ever! Happy Valentines Day babe I love you!

You look amazing!! I bet you are just dying to get her out! I have to say though, just because you don't have to get up at 6:30 for work doesn't mean you will be sleeping in. ;) I'm sure you know that. I'm so excited for you to be a mommy and not have to worry about work. That's awesome. Can't wait to hear the good news!!
